Lesbian Research Symposium

2026 Edition

Back for a second edition, the Québec Lesbian Network (QLN) presented the Lesbian Research Symposium – Lesbo-Queer Solidarities on March 6 and 7, 2026, in Montreal, at the Maison du développement durable. Bringing together more than 50 academic and community-based researchers, the event featured a rich and diverse program including panels, roundtables, workshops, and film screenings.

This bilingual symposium provided an opportunity to explore the realities, challenges, and issues shaping lesbo-queer communities in Quebec and Canada, while also opening dialogue on international and Francophone perspectives. As a space for reflection, knowledge-sharing, and mobilization, Lesbian Research Symposium – Lesbo-Queer Solidarities fostered essential exchanges between academic, community, artistic, and activist circles.

2024 Edition

The Lesbian Research Symposium of the Quebec Lesbian Network took place on March 1-2, 2024, at Les Petites-Mains. The program featured eight panels and sixteen presentations over two days, covering topics such as representation, lesbian health, lesbian history, lesbophobia, territorial constructions, aging, rurality, culture, racism, intersex issues, violence, relationships, gender expression, economic rights, and issues related to ableism.
